Ugh! Can anyone explain to me what exactly a "Kill Rescue" is?

To me it seems POINTLESS. Why on earth would a "rescue" KILL their animals? For space? That's stupid!

I didn't even know "KILL" and "RESCUE" could even be used in the same sentence!

Can someone explain it to me please?

Kill Rescues.... Not cool!

Kill Rescues are basically shelters. Why they even try to pass themselves off as "rescues" is beyond me. I don't know why they even rescue if they have to kill anyway. Some kill rescues are nice, they take great care and ONLY put down their animals when absolutely necessary, but I would not donate to a kill rescue because my donation would probably go to the euthanasia of one of those animals.

But that's just me. I would prefer to donate to a RESCUE or animal shelter that really needs it.

Kill rescues are technically shelters, the "rescue" part just helps make them seem like good people. Some kill rescues are good people, but others aren't. I'd only donate to a GOOD rescue, kill or no-kill. It just depends on what kind of rescue. If it was Days End... HECK NO, I wouldn't donate to them. It depends on the rescue IMO

Sorry, but I would never donate to one. It makes NO sense.

I ONLY donate to rescues and shelters that I like and know personally if they are reputable or not.

Just because a rescue or shelter is on petfinder or adopt-a-pet doesn't mean it is a good rescue or shelter. I wish people knew that.

Don't know why they even have "rescue" in the name, they only rescue the animals for a short amount of time. I have yet to meet a kill-rescue I actually get along with

I'm not a fan of kill-rescues either. Not sure the point of it.

If you're a shelter, okay you have to euthanize your animals because you get in so many. If you're a rescue, YOU decided to take in that animal, you didn't "have" to. So if you decide to take in an animal then just end up euthanizing it later......... what's the point?
